A Day in a Life of a Volunteer
Wondering what it's like to be a moderator?
Here's what most of our volunteers do each week:
Check the join request log (2-3 mins)
Review a few group messages daily
Gently remove anything that breaks the rules
Share an occasional reminder or prompt
Check in with the team if anything feels off
Who are we?
Pet Care Hubs is a grassroots initiative founded and operated by a small team, with community moderators based across multiple cities. We are a UK-registered company, based in London, working to build a network of trusted, local WhatsApp groups where pet owners can share advice, lost & found alerts, ethical services and everyday support.
At the heart of our mission is a commitment to nurturing online leaders everyday people who help keep digital communities kind, safe, and useful. We believe that when local volunteers are empowered with the right tools, they can shape stronger, more compassionate neighbourhoods both online and off.

We are not a charity, and we do not receive external funding. Our long-term model is supported by optional, ethical partnerships with local pet care businesses but our hubs will always remain free for pet owners, and moderated by trusted volunteers.
