This friendly guide is for anyone from a registered charity who wants to understand how the Pet Care Hubs Charity Directory works, how to verify your listing, and what the benefits are. We’re here to help connect pet lovers with trusted animal charities in their own cities — and your organization plays a big part in that.
What Is Pet Care Hubs?
We’re a digital media platform (not a charity) that helps pet owners discover local, nonprofit animal organizations they can trust. Each city has its own Charity Directory with charities specific to that area. We don’t list businesses, individuals, or unregistered groups — only verified, legally registered animal charities.
Who Can Be Listed?
You must be a legally registered nonprofit charity.
You must actively serve the city you’re listed in.
Listings are free and remain visible long-term unless we find serious issues or inactivity.
How Are Listings Added?
We manually curate every charity entry. You can:
Recommend your charity (or someone else’s) via our suggestion form
Fill out a verification form if you’re already listed
Charity Categories (Used in Our Directory):
Animal Rescue: Hands-on rescue, rehabilitation, rehoming (usually with shelters or foster networks)
Animal Welfare: Public education, spay/neuter programs, community outreach
Animal Rights: Campaigning for legal or ethical protections for animals
Veterinary Clinic: Nonprofit vet services (fixed or mobile)
Local Shelter: City-run or municipally funded animal shelters
Guide Dogs & Service Animals: Training and placing support dogs for disabilities
Wildlife & Conservation: Wildlife rescue, protection, or habitat work
Each listing includes one or more of these category tags.
Before You Verify Your Charity
Have your PCH Charity ID handy (visible on your public listing or requestable via email)
Only authorized representatives can submit the verification form (trustee, staff, or coordinator)
Filling Out the Verification Form – What to Expect:
Your Contact Info: Private – used only for verification. Not shown publicly.
Your Public Info: This is what people see on your listing (e.g. address, services, categories).
Accepts In-Kind Donations: Do you welcome physical goods like food, blankets, etc.? (Yes/No)
Seeking Volunteers: Can people help you as a volunteer right now? (Yes/No)
Animal Adoptions: Do you rehome animals? (Yes/No)
Events or Campaigns: Got any? We may spotlight your work!
Metrics Opt-In: Choose to receive a monthly engagement report — opt out anytime.
Join the Partner Retention Network: Automatically included when verified. Get:
Quarterly check-ins to keep info fresh
Broadcast and spotlight opportunities
Access to community collabs
Extra visibility with our audience
Keeping Your Info Up-to-Date
Let us know if anything changes — via the “Report a Mistake” form on your listing
We also check in every 6 months to help you keep info current
What Happens After You Submit the Form?
We’ll review your submission within 5–10 business days. If all looks good:
We’ll update your listing
We’ll apply your ✔ Verified badge
You’ll get a confirmation by email
Can I Opt Out Later?
Yes! You can:
Unsubscribe from monthly metrics reports
Leave the Partner Retention Network
Or withdraw your verification entirely (your listing stays live, just without the Verified badge)
